Winnebago Safety Policies and Requirements

At Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System, we are dedicated to providing a safe, respectful, and healing environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. We maintain strict policies on safety, privacy, and health to ensure the well-being of everyone within our facilities.

Zero Tolerance for Aggression and Violence

Aggressive or violent behavior will not be tolerated. This includes:

  • Physical Assault: Any attempt or act of physical harm toward others.
  • Verbal Harassment: Use of abusive, derogatory, or hostile language.
  • Threats or Intimidating Gestures: Any action or gesture meant to threaten or intimidate.

All incidents will be reported to Security and, if necessary, law enforcement. Violators may be subject to removal and legal consequences. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping WCHS a safe environment.

Identification and Badge Policy

All patient, visitor, and staff identification must be worn and visible at all times within the facility to ensure the safety and security of everyone in our care.

Protecting Patient Privacy

To safeguard patient confidentiality, the use of recording devices, cameras, or cell phones is strictly prohibited in patient care areas. We ask all visitors and staff to respect privacy at all times.

No Weapons Policy

To maintain a secure environment, no weapons of any kind are permitted on the premises. This includes firearms, knives, or any other potentially harmful objects. Violations of this policy will lead to immediate intervention, including law enforcement involvement.

Surveillance Notice

Please be aware that our facilities are monitored by security cameras 24/7. This surveillance is for the protection of patients, visitors, and staff and to ensure compliance with our safety policies.

ILLEGAL Drugs and Alcohol

WCHS is a smoke-free campus. Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices, is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. This policy is in place to promote a healthier environment for all who come to WCHS for care and support.

Cedar Blessing and Smudging: Ceremonial burning or smudging involving cedar, and tobacco is permitted in small amounts with prior approval. There is a wood-burning stove on the West Balcony that is specifically intended to be used for the purpose of creating charcoal for ceremonial use. It can be accessed via the exterior door from the Spiritual Room. Other ceremonial materials may be allowed based upon risk analysis by the Safety Officer.

Possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol is prohibited on the premises. Additionally, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not allowed, except for patients needing emergency medical care.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and healing atmosphere at Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System.
