Comprehensive means something is complete, inclusive, or covers all important points. WCHS is a comprehensive health system intentionally designed to offer you the highest quality selection of health services to meet the needs of every patient or relative that walks in our doors.
This is NOT a traditional healthcare system, we do not just want to treat you when you are sick, fix you when you are hurt, help you once you are chronically ill - at WCHS, we want to change the narrative.
The Facts
According to our WPHD 2024 Community Health Assessment:
- Diabetes, heart disease, addictions, cancer, anxiety, and hypertension are well above national averages.
- Length of life is 20 years below national averages.
- Cigarette smoking is dramatically higher than national averages.
Our Plan
We want to write a new story of a nation leading tribal health system that choose to significantly change the way they operated in order to signifcantly change the outcomes. Self-goverance has enabled us to decide what works for us and so we are choosing to make a change.
We want to change the way our Health System functions:
- by investing in Preventive Care programs that work to expand on the wellness, nutrition, educational efforts that know work to create healthy lifestyles.
- by building a Advanced Primary Care that creates dedicated care team and a clinical services centered around each patient's individual needs.
- by solidifying reknown Acute Care services that can be trusted to help you get back on track.
