Meals on Wheels is a national program that operates in virtually every community in America committed to supporting their senior neighbors to live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes. The community of Winnebago, NE is home to one independently-run local program dedicated to providing daily noon meals for elders and other homebound individuals throughout the local region.
Qualifying for Services
- Recipients must qualify to receive this benefit by being 55+
- Or temporarily or permanently handicap and have a referral from their primary care provider.
How It Works
- Call our Senior Citizens Center to sign up for services and request to be added to our list of daily deliveries.
- Wait for confirmation!
- Then, be ready from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM each day when Meals on Wheels knocks on the door with a nutritious meal created to address the specific health conditions of the individual.
- Open it with a smile.
What is Delivered
Every visit comes with a nutritious meal created to address the specific health conditions of the senior, a safety check around the house and an assessment of any changes that might impact future medical needs completed by our Community Health Representatives.
