Well-Child Checks

Parents know who they should go to the docter when their child is sick, but Well Child Checks or regular provider visits are just as important for healthy children. Regular well child appointments are critic for monitoring your child's health, growth, and development from infancy through adolescence. These appointments serve as opportunities for preventive care, immunizations, developmental screenings, and guidance on nutrition and safety.

  • Newborn Exams: Our newborn exams are conducted shortly after birth to assess your baby's health and ensure a smooth transition to life outside the womb. During these appointments, we perform thorough physical examinations, screen for potential health issues, and provide guidance on newborn care, feeding, and sleep.
  • Well-Child Visits: Well-child visits are scheduled at regular intervals throughout your child's early years to monitor their growth and development, address any concerns or milestones, and provide preventive care. These appointments typically include physical exams, developmental screenings, vaccinations according to the recommended vaccine schedule, and guidance on nutrition, safety, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Adolescent Visits: As your child enters adolescence, our adolescent visits focus on addressing the unique physical, emotional, and social needs of this age group. Our care team provides confidential care and guidance on puberty, sexual health, mental health, substance use, and other topics relevant to adolescent well-being.

Benifits of Well Child Visits

  • Prevention. Your child gets scheduled immunizations to prevent illness. You also can ask your provider about nutrition and safety in the home and at school.
  • Tracking growth & development. See how much your child has grown in the time since your last visit, and talk with your provider about your child's development. You can discuss your child's milestones, social behaviors and learning.
  • Raising any concerns. Make a list of topics you want to talk about with your child's provider such as development, behavior, sleep, eating or getting along with other family members. Bring your top three to five questions or concerns with you to talk with your pediatrician at the start of the visit.
  • Team approach. Regular visits create strong, trustworthy relationships among provider, parent, and child. The AAP recommends well-child visits as a way for pediatricians and parents to serve the needs of children. This team approach helps develop optimal physical, mental and social health of a child.

Our primary care team provides comprehensive care and support at every stage of your child's growth journey. Our goal is to empower parents with the knowledge and resources they need to promote their child's optimal health and well-being.
