The Sexual Wellness Service within the Primary Care Clinic provides comprehensive sexual health assessments and STI testing. Our sexual wellness clinic offers discreet and compassionate care, ensuring your comfort and confidentiality.
Walk-In STI Testing Services
Our clinic offers patients regular STI testing and the ability to address their sexual health concerns through a variety of appointment options. Recognizing the challenges some patients face in securing same-day appointments, WCHS has introduced "Flex Appointments" for STI testing. These appointments utilize our no-show appointment capacities, ensuring that if you need to see a doctor and are willing to wait, we have time slots available each day. This patient-centered approach guarantees timely access to care.
Our walk-in appointments can be carried out by our nurses for your STI testing needs, as long as you do not have symptoms; those presenting symptoms will need to wait to see a provider or schedule an appointment with a provider.
This service is managed by our skilled nursing staff, providing:
- Convenience: Walk-in services and flexible appointment slots to fit your schedule if you are not symptomatic. Those who are symptomatic will need to see a provider.
- Confidentiality: Private and respectful care for all your sexual health questions and concerns.
- Comprehensive Care: Access to a range of sexual wellness services, including STI testing, sexual health screenings, and more.
What is an STI?
An STI, or sexually transmitted infection, is an infection that is primarily spread through sexual contact. STIs can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites and can affect various parts of the body. Common examples of STIs include syphilis, HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, and human papillomavirus (HPV). It's important to detect and treat STIs early to prevent serious health complications and to reduce the spread of the infections.
Early Detection
Early detection and treatment for syphilis, HIV, and other STDs are crucial for both immediate and long-term health. Syphilis, in particular, can cause serious health problems if left untreated. Our clinic prioritizes early detection and effective treatment to ensure your well-being.
