The Winnebago Health Foundation provides scholarships to Winnebago Community members and WCHS staff, with the goal of enhancing healthcare capacity in the Winnebago community.

We are committed to providing scholarships to promising individuals within our community, investing in their future, and supporting their pursuit of knowledge and skills. Our goal is to contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of the Winnebago community by investing in its most valuable asset: its people.

Contributing to the Foundation's Scholarship program means helping build a network of professionals who are commited to creating and sustaining health in our community for the next seven generations. Build Healthcare Capacity Through Scholarships

Apply for a Scholarship

Those considering a healthcare career, advancing their career in healthcare, or otherwise working at WCHS who are eligible for assistance should consider applying for our scholarship program. Successful applicants must attend classes regularly, maintain good academic standing with their institution, and be willing to share scholarship impact with the Winnebago Health Foundation and the community.

Guidelines

Scholarships and scholarship renewals will be awarded on a bi-annual basis. The WHF Scholarship Committee will meet in April and September to select finalists from completed applications submitted within those periods. Winners will be announced award winners in May and September.

Special consideration will be given to the following criteria:

Previous recipients who have maintained a required satisfactory GPA and who continue to make community investments. This scholarship is renewable on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in renewing your scholarship, please reapply to start the renewal process.

Enrolled Winnebago Tribal Members who demonstrate a financial need beyond existing Tribal support will receive a weighted preference. Other Native participants, existing WCHS staff, and those desiring WCHS employment and/or pledging WCHS employment for a time to be negotiated with the recipient and WHF/WCHS representatives will also receive a weighted preference.

Individuals with community service experience (current and projected), academic achievement, financial need, and applicants who have demonstrated sincere commitment to the Winnebago Community's health goals.
