Marcell Blackbird spent years in construction, a career that left him accustomed to chronic pain, particularly in his elbow.
"I worked construction for a lot of years and had grown used to dealing with chronic pain in my elbow," he shared.
But his journey with Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System’s Primary Care and Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) programs transformed his life.
A Seamless Process, Thoughtful Care
Marcell’s care started with a visit to Carmel Berglin, who quickly identified the need for specialized treatment. With assistance from PRC staff member Kryssa Wolfe, Marcell was referred for surgery to address bone spurs and floating fragments in his elbow. The WCHS team ensured the process was seamless, coordinating transportation, appointment scheduling, and follow-ups. Marcell appreciated the efficiency and personal touch, feeling fully supported throughout his care.
