Since its inception in 1999 by the Barnes family, the DAISY Foundation has been a beacon of appreciation for the exceptional care provided by nurses. Inspired by the compassionate care they received during Patrick Barnes's illness; the foundation initiated the DAISY Award® to honor the extraordinary commitment of nurses.
