WCHS Strengthens Patient-Centered Care with “WCHS is Listening” Monthly Event

Winnebago, NE – The Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System (WCHS) is deepening its commitment to patient-centered care with its ongoing initiative, “WCHS is Listening.” Held three times so far this year, this monthly event provides an open and welcoming space for community members to share their feedback, experiences, and ideas directly with WCHS leadership.
Each month, WCHS leaders set up a table either on campus or in the community, inviting patients and families to stop by and share their thoughts. Whether it’s feedback on services, suggestions for improvement, or personal stories about their healthcare experiences, every voice is valued. This effort is part of a larger initiative to enhance care by ensuring that the needs and concerns of patients remain at the center of WCHS’s mission.
“Our goal is to foster open communication with our patients and community members,” said David Edwards, CEO of WCHS. “By listening directly to those we serve, we can make meaningful improvements that reflect the needs of our community.”
The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciations for the opportunity to have their voices heard. WCHS is committed to continuing this effort and will hold “WCHS is Listening” events monthly moving forward.
Community members are encouraged to stop by future events and share their input. The next session will be hosted by Sara Mcintosh, Chief Nursing Officer and Melanie Tuamoheloa, Primary Care Manager on April 24th from 12-2pm at WCHS’s main building.
