WCHS Enhances PRC Options for Native American Veterans

Winnebago, NE – Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System (WCHS) is proud to announce that all Native veterans, regardless of where they live or whether they are Winnebago Tribal members, now have access to expanded Purchased Referred Care (PRC) options through our facility. This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that Native American Veterans receive the comprehensive healthcare they deserve.
WCHS has always been dedicated to serving our veterans, and we are pleased to highlight that we now offer enhanced PRC services, along with travel assistance for veterans who utilize our transportation services. Through this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Veterans Affairs, WCHS will receive payment for these and all veteran healthcare services, ensuring that Native American Veterans’ healthcare needs are met locally and without financial barriers.
"Providing expanded PRC options through VA Benefits is an important step in enhancing the care and support available to our Native American Veterans," said Beth Wewel. Chief Financial Officer at WCHS. "We’re committed to making healthcare more accessible, and our ability to offer transportation services further ensures that veterans can receive the care they need, wherever they are."
This initiative not only strengthens the healthcare options available to veterans within our community but also ensures a seamless and integrated approach to managing their care. Whether it’s outpatient services, physical therapy, or specialized care, WCHS is here to support our veterans every step of the way.
Native American Veterans are encouraged to contact the PRC Department at WCHS at 402-745-3950 to learn more about options available and how to access travel assistance for medical appointments.
