WCHS First In-Person Orientation Training Day
August 26, 2024
Winnebago, NE – Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System (WCHS) held the first monthly in-person orientation training day. This full day of training is for recent hires, throughout WCHS, who have been employed for at least a month.
Currently at WCHS all new employees go through an on-boarding which includes online education videos, modules, and quizzes called HealthStreams as well as on-the-job training with their teammates and/or supervisors. This new in-person orientation training day will expand on these on-boarding materials by providing refreshing education on WCHS Strategic Plans, History and Culture of Winnebago Tribe and WCHS, Understanding Tribal Healthcare, Patient Experience, Compliance, and most of all Safety Procedures. WCHS’s onboarding and orientation process is focused on setting up solid and safe expectations of work conduct and patient centered care in every WCHS employee.
“It is vital for our new hires to have a vast knowledge of WCHS and the community.” explains Brook Donovan, Human Resources Manager. “When our employees are educated on the culture and history of the tribe and WCHS they are better able to serve in a way that aligns with our patients' expectations and values.”
The Orientation Training Day underlines the importance of our policies and safety measures that ensure WCHS maintains CMS certifications. At WCHS, our mission is to create and sustain a healthy community. “This new training initiative represents WCHS’s investment into our people and our mission.” shared Sharon Frenchman, Chief Administrative Officer. “Enhancing our orientation process ensures our employees are well informed and better equipped to provide compassionate and culturally centered care to those we serve.”
All employees hired in 2024 will be invited to attend the now monthly sessions of orientation training. WCHS is committed to improving our patient outcomes, quality of service, and overall access to culturally centered care.
