Providing remarkable end-of-life care to a family in the midst of losing their loved one is a testament to the power of collaboration, compassion, and the human touch in healthcare. WCHS is both honored and humbled to hear from a family who reached out to our health system to thank us for our unwavering dedication in addressing not only medical needs but also providing emotional support and thoughtful coordination with the family during a critical moment in their loved one’s life.  

In a heartfelt letter to our staff, the family expressed profound gratitude to the PHN nurses, CHRs, and the Pharmacy Department for “going the extra mile over the past several years, staying on top of [her] many changing healthcare needs and treating her with love and respect.”

Special recognition was given to the Senior Citizen Center staff, who delivered meals daily to improve the elder’s quality of life. The family also thanked the WCHS Social Worker, for securing essential services, and the EMS team for ensuring a safe and compassionate journey home. Additionally, the Dietitian and Nutrition team were praised for delivering nourishing meals, while the Environmental Services (EVS) staff was commended for maintaining a “top-notch clean” environment.

The letter goes on the thank the healthcare employees. “Your loving care, respectfulness, accommodations, and sensitivity toward the family made a huge difference for us when we needed it most,” the family wrote. “Thank you for honoring her in all the ways; we will always remember and be grateful for each and every one of you.”
